Since 1988, the Allerpet Company has been helping people with allergies live more comfortable, enjoyable and symptom-free lives. Allerpet was the first product of its kind to help pet-allergic individuals live comfortably with their pets rather than give them up for adoption due to allergic reactions.
Allerpet cleanses the hair of dander & other allergens - just moisten a cloth with Allerpet and rub back and forth gently on the fur. It is non-toxic and completely safe to use on animals over 10 weeks old. This is not a shampoo, so no rinsing is necessary - just wipe on and towel dry.
Allerpet has been recommended by allergists and veterinarians for years, and it's efficacy is backed by a European university study sponsored by Bayer, A.G. Allerpet is made in the U.S.A.
Works great! My boyfriend is highly allergic and I have 3 cats. I spray them weekly. He doesn't have any issues.
This is the best product! I am always telling my friends about it when they talk about not being able to have a cat because of allergies. It doesn't completely get rid of symptoms but it reduces them by a lot. It's a liquid that you put on a cloth and rub on your cat, and it binds to the allergens and keeps most of them from getting in or on you.
I use it on her every week or two. She doesn't lick herself very much so she's not re-allergenizing herself as fast as younger cats do, probably. I can stick my face in her fur without feeling that tickling in the back of my head that I would normally, and my boyfriend no longer turns red and drippy when he's around her. Actually, I think the Allerpet acted kind of like allergy shots for him - by being consistently exposed to very low levels of allergens for a longer period of time, he's a lot less sensitive to cats in general and has less symptoms when he's around other people's cats too.
One other piece of advice; get an allergen spray for your carpets/furniture/clothes/etc. The Allerpet doesn't get everything, so you can still get a little bit of build-up over time. With the Allerpet, allergen spray, a good vacuum, and a good air filter, you should be as close to perfect as it's possible to get.
I don't know if it's me building tolerance or what...but this stuff is a miracle!!
I'm deeply allergic to most animal dander. Thankfully no anaphylactic problems - but the itching and sneezing/runny nose is atrocious. My girlfriend with 2 cats and I bought a house together. When I used to go visit her I couldn't touch anything in the apartment, and would be immediately itchy and sneezy. If I pet the cat I had to wash my hands or I would inevitably rub dander in my eyes...basically ruining my day. With weekly rub-downs of the cats (one long, one short hair) I can always breathe easily, and as a test one day a few hours after application I plunged my face into the cat's belly and played with them for a half hour...small itch but not the normal death-march of snot. This stuff has improved my quality of life tenfold.
I was very skeptical that this would work but decided to give it a try. Basically I have 3 cats, my eldest is now 3 years old and I've had her from birth, my other 2 (Binkie & Mojo) are brothers and were rescue kittens from the RSPCA. When the 2 boys first arrived I started getting hay fever symptoms and the vet said I could be allergic to the boys. A year later the allergy went from a bit of a snivel to swollen, red itchy eyes, and this happened quite suddenly that I wasn't sure if it was a cat allergy. I can't find a new home for them because I love them too much! So I started rubbing the allerpet into their fur and voila! No more swollen, red itchy eyes... not even a snivel! Very happy!
